Class activities for Friday, November 3

Spelling: Today students completed a review spelling quiz.

Cursive: Cursive worksheets pp. 30-32 were due to be completed by today.

Reading: None today due to an anti-bullying assembly. Students will share, on Wednesday, the Literature Circles projects they are currently working on. We also read our paper (Time for Kids) and had our coffee (juice). Click here for a list of juice volunteers.

Writing: We discussed today about how using interesting, choice adjectives gives the reader a better picture of the writing. A piece of writing was due into portfolios today. Writing not turned in today will be penalized one grade for being late.

Math: Students completed a MiniQuiz today over minimum, maximum, range, mode, median and addition of multi-digit numbers. We also had Math Skills.

Science Inquiry: We completed an activity called, “Science and Questions,” in which we brainstormed areas of science students learned about in the past, and thought of tests that could be done by students in the different topics.

Behavior Update:

  • Yellows: four magnets
  • Oranges: no magnets
  • Reds: none

Ask your student what kind of choices they made.

Notes:

  • Juice Volunteers for Friday, November 10: McKenna and Noah. Click here for a full list of juice volunteers.
  • Appointments are now being made for fall conferences, November 14-16. A sign-up sheet is located at the office windows.
  • We are looking for donations of cardboard tubes (toilet tissue, paper towel, wrapping paper) for class projects. The tubes can be sent in any time during the year; this project will be on-going. Thanks for any help you can give!
