Class activities for Thursday, February 18
Spelling: We reviewed suffixes, homographs (words with the same spelling, but different sounds or meanings) and irregular verbs today (run/ran, go/went, catch/caught).
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Today was a discussion day in Literature Circles.
Writing: None on Thursdays due to technology.
In writing, we have been reviewing Core Democratic Values. The next piece of writing is a persuasive letter about an idea to improve our school or community. Here is more information about this project. The persuasive letter will be due Friday, March 5.
Math: We continued to practice metric measurement and estimation. Homework is to finish Journal p. 102.
Science: We wrote notes in our minibooks about electrical safety. We also completed an experiment that modeled using a broken cord or an overloaded circuit.
Social Studies: We wrote notes in our minibooks about well-known features of the Midwest.
