Class activities for Wednesday, October 17
Spelling: None today due to the science MEAP test.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words each are due on Fridays.
Reading: None today due to the science MEAP test.
Writing: We talked about the three most important details that every story should have:
- visual details about what characters, places and objects look like;
- dialogue or thoughts; and,
- action to show how the characters move and what they do.
Students also worked on prewriting conferences today.
The next piece of writing, a fictionalized personal narrative, will be due on Friday, November 2.
Math: We practiced solving multiple step problems. Homework is to finish Journal P2-8.
Science: None today due to the science MEAP test.
Social Studies: We learned and wrote notes about the American Indians of the Southwest and Plateau regions.
