Class activities for Wednesday, October 24
Spelling: None today due to the late start.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words each are due on Fridays.
Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles; some groups worked on synthesizing important information as a reading strategy.
Writing: We talked about using a double focus in a story. If a writer wanted to focus on summer break, they could also have a double focus of summer camp. This would help narrow the topic so that it is more manageable to write.
The next piece of writing, a fictionalized personal narrative, will be due on Friday, November 2. Students should be revising at this point.
Math: We practiced mental math multiplication today. Homework is to finish Journal P3-2.
Science: None today due to the late start.
Social Studies: None today due to the late start.
