Class activities for Thursday, October 25

Spelling: We reviewed contractions today.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words each are due on Fridays.

Reading: Today was a discussion day in Literature Circles.

Writing: We talked using details to change the speed of a story. Important scenes should have lots of dialogue, action and visual details. That will slow the scene down so the reader can understand what is happening. Less important scenes can move faster when the write includes fewer details.

The next piece of writing, a fictionalized personal narrative, will be due on Friday, November 2. Students should be revising at this point.

Math: We practiced estimating products today. Homework is to finish Journal P3-3.

Science: None today due to art.

Social Studies: We played a game to review the differences between American Indian cultural regions.

Behavior Update:

  • Yellow magnets: 0
  • Orange magnets: 0
  • Red magnets: 0
  • STAR Awards: 0
  • Magnets moved this week (goal: 8): 7

Coming soon: Check your student’s Personal and Social Growth grade at ParentVue to see if your student moved their magnet.

Notes:

Our Mission:
All students in Room 130 will do their best and get ready for 6th grade.
