Class activities for Thursday, November 29
Spelling: Students continued to make Words to Learn lists from words missed on the last spelling test.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words each are due on Fridays.
Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles; some groups worked on making connections as a reading strategy.
Writing: We talked about different types of endings for stories today. Some ways to end stories are with dialogue, action or visual details. Another way is to end the story with a question to make the reader think.
The next piece of writing, a fiction piece, is due Friday, December 14. Students should be drafting at this point.
Math: None today due to Bring a Family Member to School Day. See pics and vids here.
Science: We talked about how body systems are needed work together in order for a human or animal to function.
Social Studies: We started to learn about how exploring the New World led to people settling here. Homework is to finish Notebook p. 27 of not done in class.
