Class activities for Wednesday, October 2
Spelling: Today was a preview of upcoming spelling words.
Cursive: Cursive workbook pp. 18-23 are due on Friday.
Reading: None today due to art.
Writing: We talked about using three kinds of details in all parts of a story:
- Visual details show what places, characters and important objects look like.
- Action details show how the characters act.
- Dialogue shows was the characters say to each other.
A well-written story will include these details over and over in every part of the story.
Students also continued to draft their current story. The second piece of writing for the year is another personal narrative. This personal narrative is due Friday, October 11. Your student should be nearing the end of their draft at this time.
Math: We reviewed special quotients today. Homework is to finish Journal P1-8.
Science: We started to review our last science experiment about the force of magnet through different materials.
Social Studies: None today due to our math skills practice time.
