Class activities for Monday, May 4
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Students practiced reading a selection from their novel with speed, tone, accuracy, and volume. Students will perform this as a monologue starting tomorrow.
Writing: We started working on digital stories today, and we’ll be working on this for the remainder of the week.
Math: Students used MobyMax to practice math skills today.
Here are recent and upcoming skills from Khan Academy:
It would be helpful for students to continue working on these skills at home if they haven’t had enough time in class to master them.
Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy, and to work on MobyMax FactMaster for 5 minutes.
Science: Today we learned about how the motion of the earth causes days, years, and seasons. Homework is to finish analysis 1-2 on p. 40.
Social Studies: We started to learn about arguments for and against independence. Today, we learned about two Loyalists that wanted to stay part of Great Britain.
