Class activities for Tuesday, May 31

Spelling: None today.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays. Our last cursive assignment this year will be due this week.

Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles.

Writing: Students worked on their Find It, Decide It research project today, focusing on making their decision with evidence to back it up. Students are working with a partner to research a decision, compare and contrast two choices, and to make a decision based on research. The Find It, Decide It project is due Friday, June 2.

Math: Math for the rest of the year is work time to catch up on missing skills for 5th grade math, or to work ahead for next year. Homework is to practice math for at least 15 minutes using MobyMax Math or Khan Academy.

Science: Students worked on a district science test about space objects, the solar system, and gravity.

Social Studies: Students completed a digital review and assessment about the Bill of Rights today.

Notes:

  • Tonight is the FAMILY WALK-A-THON on the Anderson walking track. We will be walking the track on May 31st from 5:30-7:30. A pledge sheet was sent home with detailed information. We will have a D.J., bounce houses, media, and prizes. Students who are able to raise $25 dollars will receive free pizza, water, a sweet treat and a key chain. These items may be purchased at a low cost to other participants. We are asking each family to donate/raise at least $25. Every donation is tax deductible and we will provide a donation letter to every donor. Each student/family will set their personal lap goal.
