Class activities for Tuesday, January 18

Spelling: None today due to art.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words each are due on Fridays.

Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles. Some groups worked on inferring as a reading strategy.

Writing: Our writing time was shortened due to art, but students had a short time to work on revising today.

Our next piece of writing, a fiction piece, will be due Friday, January 21. Students should be revising or editing at this time.

Math: We reviewed decimal division today in partner groups. Homework is to finish four problems from the review page started in class.

Science: We learned about how the nervous system controls the sense of touch and that there are more touch receptors on the fingertips than other parts of the arm. Homework is to finish the analysis questions on p. 27.

Social Studies: Some students acted out a skit about the Plymouth colony today. Homework is to finish Notebook p. 36.
