If you missed the Camp Orientation Meeting, here is some important information and a list of supplies. Your student will bring home a packet of information with more details.
Important Reminders
- There is no school-provided transportation to and from camp. Students will need a ride there.
- Drop off is between 8:30-9:00 am on Thursday.
- Pick up is between 12:30-1:00 pm Friday.
- Dorm rooms have bunk beds. Students will need a sleeping bag and pillow, or sheets to make their bed. No bedding is provided.
- Students may be put on kitchen duty for misbehavior.
- Students will be assigned in groups of 8-12 to a high school counselor that has been interviewed by McGrath staff.
- Students will need at least two pairs of shoes:
- One old pair of shoes or water shoes is needed for exploring a pond or creek. This pair will get wet and muddy.
- One pair is needed for the zip line. This pair must not be opened-toed, or the student will not be allowed on the zip line.
- All medicine must be in the original marked containers or packages. We cannot administer unmarked medication due to risks of confusing medicines.
- Insect sprays are allowed, but spraying must be done outside of the dorm room.
- No electronic devices are allowed, including cell phones, video game systems and MP3 players. There is one exception:
- Stand-alone cameras are allowed and can be used at camp. Cameras that are part of cell phones or other electronics are not permitted.
What to Bring to Camp
Camp Copneconic suggests bring these items:
- Bedding
- Sleeping bag or bedroll, or sheets
- Pillow and pillowcase
- Clothing
- Pajamas
- Daily changes of socks and underwear (pack more in case of getting wet for water activities)
- Coats or jackets (depending on weather)
- Jeans, pants or shorts
- Sweaters/sweatshirts (we will be outside in the evening)
- Rain Gear (cheap ponchos are available at many discount stores)
- Waterproof boots (if available)
- Two pairs of shoes (at least. One old pair that can get completely wet and muddy. Another pair for use for dry activities. Flip flops may not be study enough for the camp experience.)
- Personal Articles
- Toothpaste and toothbrush
- Bath towels and wash cloth
- Comb or brush
- Soap and shampoo
- Sunscreen
- Chapstick
- Medication (all medication must be given to teachers and must be in the original packaging. Unmarked medications cannot be administered due to risk of confusing medicines or not following directions.)

- Large plastic bag for dirty or wet clothes
- Insect repellent (pumps are best; sprays will need to be applied outside of the dorm room)
- Water bottle (with name on it)
