Class activities for Thursday, December 14 and Friday, December 15
***A guest teacher was with us yesterday, so those activites are included in this post.***
Spelling: Yesterday, students work on their spelling worksheets. Today’s spelling time was used to review open sentences from the math warmup.
Cursive: Cursive worksheets pp. 48-50 are available and were due today.
Reading: Yesterday was a discussion day in Literature Circles, and today was a reading day. All groups have finished their books, and will begin projects to share their books next week.
Writing: Yesterday was a work day in Writer’s Workshop. Today’s minilesson was about including details to describe the setting of the story. Students should be revising at this time. The next piece of writing, some type of narrative (personal or fiction), is due December 22.
Math: Students worked on open sentences yesterday. A MiniQuiz was taken today.
Science: None today due to art.
Friends in Service Here (FISH): Thank you to all the families who donated gifts for our adopted girl. We had plenty of presents to wrap today, and it looks like your generosity will provide a wonderful Christmas.
Behavior Update:

Ask your student what kind of choices they made.

- We are looking for donations of medium and short cardboard tubes (have plenty of short ones, thanks!) for class projects. The tubes can be sent in any time during the year; this project will be on-going. Thanks for any help you can give!
