Spelling: None today due to the late start.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due Fridays.

Reading: Students received new Literature Circles books today.

Writing: Students continued to work on their Choose Your Own Adventure fiction story, created on a website at sites.mrhowd.com. This story is due February 13. An example of the Choose Your Own Adventure genre can be found here and here.

Math: We reviewed comparing and ordering decimals. A MiniQuiz over this topic will be tomorrow.

Science: None today due to the late start.

Social Studies: None today due to the late start. We will have a Social Studies test tomorrow about Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas.

Spelling: We reviewed the Unit 6 spelling worksheets today.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due Fridays.

Reading: Students previewed new Literature Circles books and will join new groups tomorrow.

Writing: None today due the Kenyan Acrobats assembly. We’ll be working in the lab the remainder of the week.

Spelling: None today due to our Social Studies Tour of Michigan project.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due Fridays.

Reading: The final Literature Circles group performed their play today.

Writing: None today due to the unavailability of the computer lab. We’ll be working in the lab the remainder of the week.

Math: We reviewed fractions and decimals and practiced comparing and ordering decimals. Homework is to finish Journal pp. 83-85.

Social Studies: We took a “tour of Michigan” and each team shared their tour guide script with the class. We also took notes about the Upper and Lower Peninsulas in our minibooks. Homework is to finish review worksheet pp. 4 and 6.
