Class activities for Thursday, April 16

Spelling: None today due to a writing minilesson.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due Fridays.

Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles.

Writing: We practiced writing questions to anticipate what the reader might ask. Students continued to collect research for their I-Search research project (click here for more details). Some students also started to make a mind map/web to organize their information, using

Math: Students were introduced to the partial products method of multiplication. Here’s a video tutorial:

Homework is to finish Journal pp. 125 and 127.

Science: Students made new minibooks and received Sun, Moon and Earth science books.

Social Studies: We finished learning about French Explorers. Homework is to finish an alphabet soup organizer.
