Class activities for Thursday, November 19

Spelling:  We reviewed the soft-syllable ending –ain (mountain, fountain, captain), and common /ks/ spelling patterns (x, ks, cks, kes).

Cursive: Cursive worksheet pp. 24-26 are available and due Friday.

Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles. Some groups worked on determining importance as a reading strategy.

Writing: None today due to technology. In technology, we created a website and students listed their goals from the first marking period. We’ll revisit this site to see how students are progress with their goals. Visit our Room 130 Goals website here.

The next piece of writing will be a fiction piece, due Monday, November 30. Students should be revising their draft by now.

Math: None today due to the half day schedule.

Science: We started writing some notes about changes in states of matter (solids, liquids and gases).

Social Studies: None today due to the half day schedule.
