Spelling: None today.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.

Reading: Today was a discussion day in Literature Circles.

Writing: Students worked on finalizing their question for their Find It, Decide It project. They also predicted what some of the answers to their research would be. Here are the guidelines. Here’s the discussion so far.

Math: We learned that there are a few ways to handle a remainder in a division problem:

  • Turn it into a fraction;
  • Consider it as a leftover (the remaining objects don’t belong to anyone);
  • Ignore the remainder (the remaining objects aren’t used); or
  • Round up (add another group to fit the remainder).

Homework is to finish Journal p. 156-157.

Science: Students played Food Chain Rummy to practice making food chains and webs.

Social Studies: None due to art. There will be a test over economics tomorrow.
