Class activities for Thursday, September 16
Spelling: We used letter tiles to form words and to make new words from existing ones.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words each are due on Fridays.
Reading: We practiced making open-ended questions and connections in Literature Circles today.
Writing: Students made a map of “buried stories” in order to think about some memories from their past that they might like to write about.
Students should be prewriting or drafting at this time. A personal narrative is due Friday, September 24.
Math: We continued to review factors in class today by playing the Factor Captor game. Homework is to finish Journal pp. 11.
Science: None today due to art.
Social Studies: We learned about the origin stories of the Hopi and Mayan peoples today.
