Class activities for Wednesday, November 16
Spelling: We learned that digraphs are two letters that combine to make a new sound. We practiced making words with these digraphs: ch, sh, ph, wh, th.
Cursive: Cursive pp. 36-38 are available and due on Friday.
Reading: None today due to the half day schedule.
Writing: We talked about how to punctuate dialogue correctly:
- Put quotation marks around just the words spoken.
- Use a comma or end mark to separate the dialogue from other parts of the sentence.
- Start a new paragraph when a new speaker begins talking.
The next piece of writing is a fiction story, due Monday, November 28. Students should be revising at this time.
Math: None today due to the half day schedule.
Science: We started an experiment about designing switches in circuits.
Social Studies: None today due to the half day schedule.
