November 19th, 2012
Class activities for Monday, November 19
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words each are due on Fridays.
Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles. Students received new informational magazines to read today.
Writing: None today due to our technology time.
The next piece of writing, a fiction story, will be due on Monday, November 26. Students should be almost done with revising by now.
Math: Students practiced estimating quotients by rounding to compatible numbers. For example, to estimate 338 / 6, the number can be rounded to 360 / 6. The number 340 is actually closer to 338, but 360 is easier to divide by 6. The answer is that 338 / 6 is about 60. Homework is to finish Journal P4-2.
Science: We learned about the excretory system today.
Social Studies: None today due to our math skills practice time.
