June 3rd, 2013
Class activities for Monday, June 3
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Cursive is completed for the year.
Reading: Today was also a reading day in Literature Circles.
Writing: There are no new writing projects for the remainder of the year.
Math: Students practiced finding the volumes of prisms using the formula, v = l x w x h. Homework is to finish Journal P12-5.
Science: Students drew scale models of the solar system. They found out that there is no way to draw a true scale model of the solar system on a piece of paper. It’s possible to draw the distances to scale, but the planets would be so small, they would be invisible. Homework is to finish the analysis on p. 27.
Social Studies: We started to learn about the Bill of Rights that were amended to the Constitution to preserve the rights of Americans.
