Class activities for Tuesday, June 4
Tuesday, June 4th, 2013Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Cursive is completed for the year.
Reading: None today.
Writing: There are no new writing projects for the remainder of the year.
Math: Students practiced finding the volumes non-standard shapes by combining volumes. Homework is to finish Journal P12-6.
Science: The class tried to make a scale model of the solar system. It wouldn’t fit in the classroom, because any model that small would make the planets too small to see. We made our model outside, starting with the sun the size of a bowling ball, and we placed it at the far end of the parking lot. We ran out of room for our model at Uranus, which would have been all the way down at Anderson. Neptune and Pluto would have been another 600 steps beyond the fence!
Social Studies: Students learned about the First, Second and Fourth Amendments to the Constitution. Homework is to finish the reading notes for Sections 15.3-15.5.
