Class activities for Friday, December 2
Spelling: We finished reviewing rules for capitalization:
- Capitalize specific names, places, and titles
- Capitalize days, months, holidays, but not seasons.
Cursive: Cursive pp. 45-47 are available and due Monday.
Reading: None today.
Writing: We talked about developing characters to make them seam real by using dialogue, action, description and the reaction of other characters.
The next piece of writing is a fiction story, due Friday, December 16. Students should be drafting at this time.
Math: None today due to STAR Friday.
Science: We did an experiment to learn that salt water is an electrical conductor, but not pure water. We also made an electromagnet and learned that the strength of the electromagnet increases when more coils of wire are wound around the magnetic core of the electromagnet.
Social Studies: None today.
