Class activities for Wednesday, February 14
Spelling: None today due to making Valentine’s bags. We will have a spelling test tomorrow. The unit 7 worksheets are available here and will be due next Tuesday.
Cursive: Cursive pp. 63-65 are available and will be due next week.
Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles.
Writing: Mr. Weiss taught a lesson in our class today about using thoughtshots to write what characters are thinking. The next piece of writing is due March 2.
Social Studies: We reviewed the homework from yesterday and then played a game to study for tomorrow’s test. The test tomorrow will be over the first people of Michigan (Paleo Indians, Old Copper People, Hopewell Mound Builders, Chippewa, Ottawa, Potawatomi, and Huron Indians).
Our party was so good, it was scary, literally! Thanks to all the family members that helped in class and with donations. We passed out our cards, ate sloppy joes, chips, and fruit, then played games. As you can tell from the picture, everyone had wonderful, lovely-tasting fun!

- Juice Volunteers: A new volunteer list will be sent home soon.
- Upcoming Events: New writing piece due (March 2); Straits of Mackinaw field trip (May 11). See the class calendar for more information.
- We are looking for donations of medium and long cardboard tubes (have plenty of short ones, thanks!) for class projects. The tubes can be sent in any time during the year; this project will be on-going. Thanks for any help you can give!
