Class activities for Monday, May 7

Spelling: We reviewed homophones (their, there, they’re, theirs, there’s) today. We will have a spelling test tomorrow. The unit 10 worksheets are available here.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words are due each Friday.

Reading: Today was a discussion day in Literature Circles. Some groups worked on inferring. 

Writing: Students continued writing for our class newspaper project about our fourth grade year.

Math: We reviewed fractions of sets problems (1/2 of 12 is 6, 2/3 of 15 is 10) and started dividing shapes into fractional parts using pattern blocks. Homework is to finish Math Boxes 7.3.

Science: We learned that the moon is a gray rocky ball, cold at night, hot during the day, airless, waterless, has low gravity, has mountains, valleys and plains, and has no life. Homework is to completed Investigation Review pp. 41-42.

Social Studies: None today due to technology.
