Class activities for Tuesday, May 8
Spelling: Students completed the unit 10 spelling test today. The unit 10 worksheets will be due tomorrow. The unit 11 worksheets are available here.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words are due each Friday.
Reading: Today was a reading day in Literature Circles. Some groups worked on determining importance and questioning.
Writing: Students continued writing for our class newspaper project about our fourth grade year, focusing on completing an interview or a survey.
Math: Students took a MiniQuiz over fractions of sets problems (1/3 of 9) and then we continued dividing shapes into fractional parts using pattern blocks. Homework is to finish Journal p. 198.
Science: We learned that 100 earths would fit across the sun, and that the sun is very far from the earth, across our school’s soccer field if the sun was a beachball and the earth the size of paper from a hole punch.
Social Studies: We took notes about Americans coming to Michigan in our minibooks and then learned about who Michigan’s pioneers were and how they came.
