Class activities for Monday, October 22

Spelling: We planned an experiment to separate iron filings, sand and salt during spelling time. The Unit 2 spelling worksheets were also made available today.

Cursive: None today.

Reading: Students continued working today to plan their Literature Circles projects, which will be presented on Thursday.

Writing: None today due to technology. In technology, students started making an inspirational poster.

The next piece of writing, a personal narrative, is due on November 2.

Math: We practiced reading and writing large numbers today. Homework for Wednesday is Journal pp 32-33.

Science: Students completed a test about magnets.

Social Studies: We learned today that the Southwest is famous for the Grand Canyon, the Colorado River and coastal plains. We also saw how the Burlingame Canyon in Washington was formed to be over 100 feet deep and 1,500 feet long in only six days.
