Class activities for Tuesday, October 23
***A guest teacher was with us today.***
Spelling: Students practiced identifying spelling patterns for the long i sound.
Cursive: Cursive pages 29-31 were made available today and are due Friday.
Reading: Students continued to work on their Literature Circles projects, which will be presented on Thursday.
Writing: Today was the last planned drafting day. Next up: four revising days, two editing days and two publishing days, not counting the weekend. Students who haven’t yet finished their drafts will have to make up lost time by working longer at home. The next piece of writing, a personal narrative, is due on November 2.
Math: Students reviewed place value by writing large numbers in a place value chart. Homework is Journal pp 32-33.
Science: Students made posters to show what they know and think about electricity, our next unit of study.
Social Studies: Students learned that the Southwest is famous for a dry climate and deserts.
