Class activities for Wednesday, October 24
Spelling: We searched for words with the long i spelling pattern today.
Cursive: Cursive pages 29-31 are available and due on Friday.
Reading: Today was the final work day for Literature Circles projects; they will be presented tomorrow.
Writing: Today’s minilesson was about using details and examples to prove the writing. Today was also the first revising day, so students should have their rough drafts finished by now or tonight. The next piece of writing, a personal narrative, is due on November 2.
Math: We reviewed place value and what digits are worth. Homework is Math Boxes 2.4.
Science: We revised our magnet posters, shared our electricty posters, and separated a mixture of salt, sand and iron filings.
Social Studies: We took notes in our minibooks about the Midwest and learned that the Southwest is famous for oil (“black gold”). A MiniQuiz over the Midwest will be tomorrow.
