Class activities for Thursday, October 25

Spelling: We reviewed homographs, words with the same spelling but different meanings and pronunciations.

Cursive: Cursive pages 29-31 are due tomorrow.

Reading: Students presented their Literature Circles projects today. Students will receive new Literature Circles books next week.

Writing: None today due to Literature Circles presentations. We will have a double-dose of writing tomorrow. Students should be revising for their next piece of writing, a personal narrative, due on November 2.

Math: We practiced place value using the calculator to change place values. We also played a game to compare the value of numbers. Homework is to complete a place value worksheet.

Science: None today due to library.

Social Studies: Students completed a Midwest MiniQuiz today (check SnapGrades for the grade). We also sang some cowboy songs today to teach us that the Southwest is famous for cattle and cowboys, as well as being near the Mexican border.
