Class activities for Friday, October 26
Spelling: We learned that it’s easier to spell words when the word is broken into syllables. A spelling test over Unit 2 will be next Thursday.
Cursive: Cursive pages 29-31 will be due on Monday.
Reading: None today due to extra time for writing.
Writing: Students learned how to do a revising conference and continued to revise today. Students should be nearing the end of revising of this piece. Some students are behind schedule; ask your student to show you what they’ve done so far. The next piece of writing, a personal narrative, is due on November 2.
Math: Today was Math Skills. Math Skills is online, so have you student show you their Math Skills tracking spreadsheet and update you on what they are currently working on!
Science: Students used a single battery, wire and bulb to light the bulb (it wasn’t as easy as everyone thought it would be!). Homework is to complete the Sparky’s Light Kit experiment worksheet. We also practiced thinking of testable questions about science from years past in Science Inquiry.
Social Studies: None on Fridays.
- Yellow magnets: 2
- Orange magnets: 0
- Red magnets: 0
- STAR Awards: 3
Check your student’s Personal and Social Growth grade at SnapGrades to see if your student moved their magnet.
