Class activities for Wednesday, February 6
Spelling: Most students completed their Words to Learn list today. This is their customized list of spelling words to practice for the next test. Some students have not finished preparing their list and may need to come in during recess. Homework is to practice this list!
Cursive: Five cursive sentences of seven or more words are due on Friday.
Reading: Students received their new Literature Circles book groups today. They also received a letter indicating their most recent STAR reading level. You can also check SnapGrades for their reading level.
Writing: None today due to an extended time with math and art.
Students should be editing at this point. The next piece of writing is due this Friday, February 8. This piece should be some type of fiction not including any student from our class as a character.
Math: We started some practice with metric measurement. Homework is to complete Journal pp. 98-99.
Science: We view some websites related to our recent light experiments.
Social Studies: We looked at some Indian artifacts and talked about how scientists use artifacts to learn about history.
