We had a great time our last of fourth grade. Everyone had their fill at our potluck picnic. Then we ran ourselves silly playing games in the courtyard!

Thanks to all the families that brought a dish to pass, helped with food preparation and cleanup, and helped with the games.

I wish everyone all the best over the summer and into fifth grade!

Here are some memories from our fourth grade year:

Today we went to Rollhaven for skating, video games, and laser tagging. We had hot dogs and chips in the courtyard, and then watched a movie in the small gym. What a tough day!

Our End of the Year Potluck Picnic is tomorrow! We will eat at 1:00 pm, and family members are invited; we’ll have plenty of food! We’d appreciate any hands that could come early to help with preparing and serving the food, or to stay late to help with games.

Math: Students learned how to multiply and divide decimal numbers, and we reviewed perimeter and area. Homework is to complete a perimeter and area puzzle page.

Math: Students played fraction war to compare fractions. We also learned that adding the same fraction over and over is the same as multiplying the fraction by a whole number. For example, 1/2 + 1/2 + 1/2 = 1/2 * 3 = 3/2. Homework is to change five improper fractions into mixed numbers, by dividing.

Science: We finished learning about states of matter and the water cycle. Homework is to finish Investigation Review pp. 84-85 if not done in class.

Social Studies: None today.
