Class activities for Monday, February 7

Spelling: None today.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words each are due on Fridays.

Reading: Today was a discussion day in Literature Circles.

Writing: We talked about how repeating words, phrases or lines helps to add interest and organization to a piece of writing.

Students continued to work on their Choose Your Own Adventure fiction gamebook, due Friday, February 11. Students will publish their adventure as a website at Students should be drafting at this time.

Math: Students started working on a division test today.

    Science: We finished reading about how scientists study people using qualitative and quantitative data. Homework is to finish the analysis on pp. 35-36.

    Social Studies: We started talking about how advertisements are made to try to attract people to think a certain way or buy a certain product. Students will later make advertisements to learn about some of the early New England colonies. Homework is to finish Preview p. 39.
