Class activities for Friday, February 25

Spelling: Today was a preview of upcoming spelling words.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words each are due on Fridays.

Reading: Today was a discussion day in Literature Circles.

Writing: Students worked on developing the topic of their persuasive letter, collecting research and beginning to draft their argument.

The Letter to the Editor persuasive writing project will be due March 7. Students will be asked to select a public policy issue and make an argument for or against it. Here’s an overview of this persuasive letter project, and here’s a checklist to help with writing the letter.

Math: None today due to the McGrath Talent Show.

Science: Students finished designing their ball tossing experiment, writing a procedure and making a data table. Homework is to finish writing the procedure and data table if not done in class.

Social Studies: Groups wrote catchy statements about their colony from the information that wrote in their reading notes.
