Class activities for Friday, November 11
Spelling: We learned about “spelling surprises,” which are words that are spelled differently that expected. Common spelling patterns for the long e sound are e, ea, ee and y, but the word people is a spelling surprise, because it’s spelling pattern is eo.
Cursive: Cursive pp. 33-35 are available and due on Monday.
Reading: Today was a discussion day in Literature Circles.
Writing: Today was a drafting work day.
The next piece of writing is a fiction story, due Monday, November 28. Students should be drafting at this time.
Math: None today due to STAR Friday.
Science: We talked about how to “repair” circuits that wouldn’t light a bulb.
Social Studies: We practiced identifying positive and negative incentives. Homework is to finish the Incentive Chart started in class.
