Class activities for Monday, January 9

Spelling: Today was the class spelling bee. Congratulations to Tai and Julian for being our class finalists!

Cursive: Cursive pp. 57-59 are available and due Friday.

Reading: Students finished reading their selected monologues aloud to the class.

Writing: We talked about describing new characters to explain who they are shortly after they first appear in a story.

The next piece of writing is a fiction story, due Friday, January 13. Students should be revising at this time.

Math: None today due to extra time for our spelling bee.

Science: Students completed an experiment using balloons that contained a solid, liquid and gas today. Homework is to complete the 3 Balloons experiment if not done in class.

Social Studies: We learned more about the ghost town of Rhyolite, Nevada. We also learned that economies can change when any of these things change:

  • natural resources
  • technology
  • competition

Behavior Update:

  • Orange magnets: 0
  • Red magnets: 0
  • STAR Awards: 0
