October 2nd, 2012
Class activities for Tuesday, October 2
Spelling: We continued to review common spelling patterns for the /oi/ sound: oi and oy.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words each are due on Fridays.
Reading: None today due to an extra time with science.
Writing: We reviewed using precise nouns. It’s important for a writer to use the correct words that match up with what the writer is trying to say. If the writer is talking about a rusty car jack, say that, not a thing to push up a car covered in brown stuff.
The next piece of writing, a personal narrative, will be due on Friday, October 12. Students should be drafting at this point.
Math: We practiced adding and subtracting decimals today. Homework is to finish Journal P2-4 started in class.
Science: Students assembled model human skeletons today.
Social Studies: None today due to our math skills time.
