October 4th, 2012
Class activities for Thursday, October 4
Spelling: We reviewed easily confused words:
- probably/possibly
- set/sit
- among/between
- than/then
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences of seven or more words each are due on Fridays.
Reading: None today due to art.
Writing: We reviewed strong verbs today. Rather than writing that a character was going somewhere, write that they were streaking, pelting, or ripping! Specific action is more interesting.
The next piece of writing, a personal narrative, will be due on Friday, October 12. Students should be revising at this point.
Math: We practiced decimal addition today. Homework is to finish Journal P2-6 started in class.
Science: We reviewed the skeletal system and made biology minibooks to write notes in.
Social Studies: We continued to learn about how different American Indian groups made different kinds of clothes, shelter and tools using the natural resources they could find in their environment.
