Class activities for Tuesday, September 16
Spelling: We practiced using prefixes to change the meaning of basewords.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays. One easy kind of sentence to write over and over is a pangram (has all letters of the alphabet). Here are two examples:
- The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
- The five boxing wizards jump quickly.
Reading: Today was a reading skills practice day using MobyMax and Accelerated Reader.
Writing: Students started revising their current piece of writing.
A personal narrative is due Monday, September 22. Students should be revising at this point.
Math: Students used Khan Academy to practice math skills. Homework is to practice math for at least 15 minutes, using Khan Academy or MobyMax.
Science: We learned how the skeletal system was connected. Students cut out and connected paper models of bones to form a skeleton. We’ll check accuracy tomorrow. Homework is to finish assembling the skeleton if not finished in class.
Social Studies: We learned that American Indians had origin stories to explain where they thought the earth and people came from.
