Class activities for Friday, February 27

Spelling: Today was a preview of upcoming spelling words.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.

Reading: Today was a discussion day in Literature Circles.

Writing: Students worked on publishing today. A persuasive Letter to the Editor (guidelines) about a public policy issue facing the US was today, Friday, February 27; however, students can continue working this weekend if needed.

Math: We continued to practice multiplying decimals today. We’ll be reviewing this and dividing decimals over the next several days. Here are some skills we’ve been working on lately or will begin soon:

Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy, and to work on MobyMax FactMaster for 5 minutes.

Science: We reviewed our last experiment about measuring speed. Students also completed a MiniQuiz about speed.

Social Studies: Students worked on a Reading Challenge about comparing colonies today. We’ll have a test about this next week.
