Class activities for Thursday, April 16

Spelling: None today due to the M-STEP English Language Arts test.

Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.

Reading: None today due to the M-STEP English Language Arts test.

Writing: Students continued to collect research for the I-Search informational research project, due on May 1. Students will share their research as a digital presentation during our I-Search Conference on May 1.

Math: Students continued to use MobyMax to practice adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators.

Here are recent and upcoming skills from Khan Academy:

It would be helpful for students to continue working on these skills at home if they haven’t had enough time in class to master them.

Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy, and to work on MobyMax FactMaster for 5 minutes.

Science: We previewed our next unit of study, astronomy and earth science.

Social Studies: None today due to the M-STEP English Language Arts test.

Notes:

  • Students will be taking the M-STEP (Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress) test several days each week for the next three weeks. Please make sure students get enough sleep and a good breakfast!
