Class activities for Monday, May 11
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Students began reading informational magazines today in Literature Circles.
Writing: We started working on a collection of poems today. We began to talk about the ingredients of a poem: imagery, music, or emotion.
Math: Students continued to work on fraction skills using MobyMax Math.
Here are recent and upcoming skills from Khan Academy:
It would be helpful for students to continue working on these skills at home if they haven’t had enough time in class to master them.
Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy, and to work on MobyMax FactMaster for 5 minutes.
Science: Today we used a computer simulation to learn about what causes moon phases. You can see the simulations here and here. Homework is to finish analysis question 1, 2, 5 on p. 50.
Social Studies: We started to learn about the Declaration of Independence. Homework is to finish the notes for sections 2 and 3 of the Declaration of Independence chapter.
