Spelling: None today.

Cursive: There will be no new cursive assignments this year.

Reading: None today due to Field Day.

Writing: None today due to Field Day.

Math: None today due to Field Day.Math this week will consist of a final push to master any remaining skills for fractions, volume, and shapes.

Here are the final topics of 5th grade:

It would be helpful for students to continue working on these skills at home if they haven’t had enough time in class to master them.

Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes or more using MobyMax or Khan Academy, and to work on MobyMax FactMaster for 5 minutes.

Science: Science is completed for the year.

Social Studies: We finished learning about the Bill of Rights and students completed a district test.

Writing: None today.

Math: Math this week will consist of a final push to master any remaining skills for fractions, volume, and shapes.

Writing: We continued to work on editing novels to prepare for publishing.

Math: Math this week will consist of a final push to master any remaining skills for fractions, volume, and shapes.

Science: We used toilet paper to model how far apart the planets are in our solar system. If the sun was at the beginning of the roll, Pluto would be 200 toilet paper squares away. Except for the inner rocky planets, most planets are very, very far from each other.

Social Studies: We reviewed the second and fifth amendments to the constitution.

Writing: Students worked on editing their novel in preparation for publishing it this week.

Math: Math this week will consist of a final push to master any remaining skills for fractions, volume, and shapes.
