November 16th, 2015
Class activities for Monday, November 16
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Cursive pp. 25-27 are available and due on Friday.
Reading: None today due to getting new seats, jobs, and team captains.
Writing: Students shared with the class the problem of their fiction story, and how the problem will be solved.
Students also continued to draft today. Your student should be more than half finished with their draft at this point. A fiction story will be due Monday, November 30.
Math: We practiced understanding the value of a digit in a number. For example, in the number 4,356, the 4 is worth 4,000, the 3 is worth 300, and the 5 is worth 50. Students also practiced place value skills at Khan Academy.
Homework is to practice MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for at least 15 minutes.
Science: We reviewed our last experiment about different ways to configure a circuit. We’ll have a miniquiz about this soon.
Social Studies: Students worked in teams to comment on an article about supply, demand and price. View the article and our comments here. We’ll also have a miniquiz about this topic this week.
