Class activities for Tuesday, February 2
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Cursive pages 49-51 are available and due on Friday.
Reading: Students continued working on reader’s theatre plays to practice reading fluency and to share their book with the class.
Writing: Students completed prewriting conferences today and started drafting their literary essay. Homework is to finish drafting the first paragraph.
A literary essay will be due Friday, February 12; here’s a sample essay and here’s an example essay we wrote together.
Math: Students practiced multiplication skills today. Here are some skills we’ve been working on lately:
- Multiply a 1-digit number by a multiple of 10, 100, and 1000
- Multiplying tens
- Multiplication without regrouping
- Multiplication with carrying
Homework is to practice MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for at least 15 minutes.
Science: We started to learn how to measure liquids using a graduated cylinder.
Social Studies: We reviewed public goods and services today.
