April 18th, 2016
Class activities for Monday, April 18
Spelling: Students started making Words to Learn lists by correcting words missed on the last spelling test.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Today was a discussion day in Literature Circles.
Writing: Students started organized their information into a Mind Map today using the MindMup Google Drive app. They will use their mind maps to plan their slide presentation and will start working on that as soon as tomorrow. The I-Search project is due on April 29. Students will share their research as a digital presentation during our I-Search Conference on April 29.
Homework is to finish the mind map started in class.
Math: We’ve been working on standard division lately using Khan Academy. Today we practiced 1-digit division with no remainders. Our target is to finish division skills by the end of April.
Here are some skills we’ve been working on:
Homework is to practice MobyMax Math or Khan Academy for at least 15 minutes.
Science: None today. We’ll have a MiniQuiz tomorrow about the sun, moon, and earth.
Social Studies: We reviewed the powers of each branch and learned that each branch has special powers and limits on those powers. Students completed a MiniQuiz today about how the government is organized into branches and levels.
