Class activities for Friday, May 27
Spelling: We practiced working with the idea that some words have silent letters. We also noticed that the silent letters can affect the vowel sound, such as changing the sound from short to long in these examples:
- pin/pine
- rod/rode
- hug/huge
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due on Fridays.
Reading: Today was a reading skills and AR practice day.
Writing: Students worked on writing making and proving their decision for their Find It, Decide It compare and contrast project. The Find It, Decide It project is due Friday, June 3. Homework is to finish the draft of the project with these sections:
- Short introduction
- Comparision section with at least five ways of similarity
- Contrast section with at least five ways of difference
- Decision with at least five reasons
Math: Students completed a STAR Math test today.
Science: We learned about more animals with unique adaptations: different bird beaks, ducks that follow their mother
Social Studies: None today.
