Class activities for Monday, January 22
Spelling: We practiced using their and theirs in sentences. We learned that possessive pronouns (his, hers, yours, theirs, mine, ours) don’t have apostrophes.
Cursive: Cursive pp. 48-51 are available and are due Friday.
Reading: Today we read a biography about a woman who protested pollution in a West Virginia coal mining town.
Writing: Today was an editing day for students to work on their Google Site gamebook. Partners helped each other edit. Homework is to work on writing for 15 minutes and to finish editing with a family member or partner at home. Students should also finish any leftover parts of their draft, if needed.
This project is due Tuesday, January 23.
Math: We practiced multiplying with regrouping again today. Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.
Science: Students used spring scales to weigh several objects. Homework is to finish the Using Spring Scales experiment if not done in class.
Social Studies: None today due to art.
Character Strength: We learned about hope and optimism again today.
