Spelling: Today was a spelling and skill test.

Cursive: There will be no new cursive assignments this year.

Reading: None today.

Writing: We worked on publishing our novels again today.

Math: None today.

Science: We worked on a district test about life and fossils.

Social Studies: We worked on a district test about geography.

Character Strength: There are no new character strengths this year.

Notes:

Class activities for Wednesday, June 6

Spelling: We reviewed rules for adding suffixes onto words. This will be the skill tested on tomorrow’s spelling test.

Cursive: There will be no new cursive assignments this year.

Reading: None today.

Writing: We worked on publishing our novels again today.

Math: We worked on area and perimeter skills today. Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy. This is the final week to finish unfinished skills for this report card.

Science: We wrote notes about the needs of plants and animals.

Social Studies: We learned about how the US can be divided into four regions:

  • Western mountains
  • Great Plains
  • Great Lakes farms and factories
  • Southern Plantations

Character Strength: There are no new character strengths this year.

Spelling: None today.

Cursive: There will be no new cursive assignments this year.

Reading: None today.

Writing: We worked on publishing our novels today.

Math: We worked on symmetry skills today. Homework is to practice math for 15 minutes using MobyMax or Khan Academy.

Science: We checked in on our plant experiments:

  • water–we are still testing this
  • light–we are still testing this
  • heat (not too much and not too little): we have learned that plants need the right out of heat, not too much, not too little
  • air–we are still testing this

We also learned that organisms need energy for growing/reproducing, moving, eliminating waste, and maintenance/repair.

Social Studies: None today.

Character Strength: There are no new character strengths this year.
