October 1st, 2018
Spelling: None today.
Cursive: Ten cursive sentences, seven or more words each, are due Fridays.
Reading: We read a narrative nonfiction story today about Ansel Adams and Henry David Thoreau.
Writing: We talked about the three ingredients of any story: people, places, plot. Every story should have people that talk, places with visual details, and action details that show the story happening. Students also worked on their draft today. A personal narrative is due Friday, October 12. Homework is to work on writing for 15 minutes. Your student should be drafting by now.
Science: We talked about how to make a claim, to prove the claim with evidence, and to explain how the evidence matters.
Social Studies: Students started using digital resources to review American Indian cultures.
